During the TDI Advanced nitrox course you will learn the theoretical knowledge and skills required to safely plan and execute dives using up to 100% oxygen.
The course will cover the following topics and skills:
Physics and physiology relating to diving with gas mixes containing more than 40% oxygen
Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen limitations, nitrogen limitations
Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for using gases with more than 40% oxygen.
During 4 open water dives you will learn and perfect the following skills and drills: Buoyancy, trim buddy location and spatial and environmental awareness, gas management, gas switching, gas malfunction drills, out of air drills, problem solving, equipment malfunction and SMB deployment.
Once you have completed the TDI Advanced nitrox course you will be able to plan and execute dives using gas mixes of up to 100% including stage gas to safely and effectively decompress. You will also be able to continue on to the TDI Decompression procedures course.
Required equipment configuration:
The Advanced Nitrox course can be completed on either a single cylinder with stage configuration twinset or sidemount. Divers will also require an SMB and slate or wet notes.
